Denny Ilett is an accomplished arranger whose work spans collaborations with legends such as Paul Jones (Manfred Mann), Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown), Bobby Shew, and Shirley Bassey. He is also the creative force behind all arrangements for his Jimi Hendrix-inspired project, the Electric Lady Big Band.
Influenced by arrangers like Nelson Riddle, Neal Hefti, Ernie Wilkins, and Ronnie Hazelhurst, Denny brings a rich, stylistically diverse approach to his writing. He frequently accepts commissions to write original charts and transcribe music for orchestras around the world.
His projects include a full orchestral transcription of the James Bond theme collection, the spy-themed "Sounds For Spies And Private Eyes," and "Cult Fiction Live," a show celebrating 1960s and 70s film and TV soundtracks with a jazz and big band twist.
Denny has also transcribed a significant body of classic Swing Era charts from artists such as Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Harry James, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, and Dizzy Gillespie.
